Osun state University sacks lecturer involved in sexual scandal

The management of the Osun State University, UNIOSUN, have sacked one of its lecturers, Olabode Ojoniyi of the department of Languages and Linguistics who was recently involved in a sex scandal.

Olabode who is married with children, some months back tried to solicit sex for increased marks from one of his female students identified as Mercy Ikwue.

He invited Mercy over to a hotel and while he was persuading her to give in to his request, Mercy secretly started recording their conversation using her laptop which she pretended to be using to watch a movie. She later released the video to some of her friends who made the video go viral.

Olabode was summoned before the school's disciplinary committee. After a thorough investigation, he was found guilty and subsequently dismissed last week.
