Photos: LRU emergency responders undertake training on third mainland bridge

Between 7-10pm on Friday 14th October 2016, the LASEMA Response Unit team of highly professional and passionate instructors took emergency responders through a series of trainings on third mainland bridge and some parts of Victoria Island ranging from safety drills – escape routes, decision making skills, predicting driver behaviour, cone and vehicle deployment for scene protection, signaling vehicles, lighting and visibility as well as lane closure techniques.

Within emergency medicine, the ‘golden hour’ refers to the period that prompt intervention will prevent death. As a matter of fact, too many people lose their lives and sources of livelihood, not from the initial incident, but from lengthy response times due to inadequate resources.

The LASEMA Response unit is committed to providing this prompt intervention to ensure the safety of lives and livelihood in Lagos and in a bid to further cut down response times has introduced first emergency responders.

We can’t stop accidents and crime entirely but we can work on a robust and effective response. Lagosians should feel safe at work, at rest and at play; It is indeed evident that Lagos Cares.

The emergency numbers still remain 112 & 767.
