Festival goers arrive early at the Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm, Pilton, in Somerset
Revellers walk through a
waterlogged area of the site where heavy rain over a prolonged period
has caused isolated flooding and muddy fields
The festival, which Michael Eavis
started in 1970 when several hundred hippies paid just £1, now attracts
more than 175,000 people
The first day of the festival saw

became quagmires and accidents caused back-ups on surrounding roads
Now its 46th year Glastonbury is
one largest music festivals in the world and this year features headline
acts Muse, Adele and Coldplay. Continue through for more pictures
